I have had great a great time hunting from the ground. Actually bought a ladder stand last yr. first time ever using a tree stand and loved the view you get from having the high ground.

On the gound I have had deer walk less than 5 yards from me and never know I exsist. Having your scent control down is the biggest factor, plus you must move with great ease, and have your camo matching perfect with your surroundings. I would either sit directly on the ground with a little cushion or use my dove hunting folding chair that weighs about 1 lb.
