For starters I would have to say that you can test hundreds of bows and give him your opinion but it means absolutly nothing. He has to be the one to try it out and figure out what he likes. Your opinion means nothing!

The first thing I would help him with is figuring out his budget. You can find tons of great used bows on the market but if he can't afford them it doesn't matter. And if he can afford the bow but none of the accessoriesI(sight, rest, quiver, etc..) then what good is it.

Once you have that then you can start looking.
