I wouldn't use a salt softener. Thats sodium chloride. Go to your local co-op and ask for some sodium bicarbonate. It is an additive for feed. It is actuallybaking soda.

As for the di-calcium phosphate, that may be hard to find too. I just ordered mono calcium phosphate.
