That's just it though. Casual hunters everywhere shoot anything with a point on its head. If they really cared about antlers wouldn't they be buying in to all the QDM and TDM? I do understand what you and Germ are saying but it doesn't seem they care about antlers so much as shooting a buck regardless of antler size. I don't see these casual hunters taking a spike to the taxi. If there was a way to distinguish bucks from does (if no antlers) wouldn't these same casual hunters still shoot them?
See there lies the oddity. they care soooo much about antlers that they will shoot a buck JUST because it has them, but they don't want to take the next step of waiting for a big one, cause then they may not get one at all. These guys aren't just out to shoot
A deer, they want to shoot
A buck, and that's all that matters. These guys would shoot a buck regardless of the distinguishing factor that set it apart from does.
