Default RE: Knight Disk Extreme?

1st you need to read the manual. It'll tell you much of what you need to know. Though you need to know exactly which version you have.

If you look at the picture below you can see the differences between the styles of Extremes. I assume at the price you paid that you got it used. There are 3 styles. The first was the old c-tool bolt and screw release (6). Then they came out with a c-toolless bolt. The first versions with the non c-tool bolt had screw releases. Then they came out with the quick release and those versions had the c-toolless bolt (5). I don't have one of the middle versions to show you.

When I started with the picture I decided to include a lot of extras since a lot of folks tend to ask what they need. I figured it'd save time later. You can ignore anything you already know.

1. Breechplug tools. I use a ratchet with a #11 socket. Right next to it is the standard tool.

2. C-tool

3. Bolts. The one on the left is c-toolless. The one on the right requires a c-tool. A closer picture. See how the finger on the right hand one goes to the threads? The one on the left doesn't. That's how you tell them apart.

4. Full plastic Jackets.

5. Quick release (newest style Extremes)

6. Screw style. It requres an 5/16 allen wrench.

7. Some pill bottles. I take 3 hunting. 1 for the primers (unopened one), 1 for dry patches, and one for wet patches. I swab my barrel before reloading.

8. Rusty Duck Black Off. The solventI use.

9. Jar of premoistened patches. Some are bought patches, some I cut from old t-shirts. The little jar is helpful at the range.

10. Short starters. The one with the wooden Knob is a CVA starter. I like the tips from it but use the T-handle style.

11.A couple Jags. The one on top is the standard Knight one.

12. A tube of threadlocker and breechplug grease. Both very helpful items. I put breechplug grease under scope bases and sights to prevent rust and the threadlocker to keep the screws snug. I actually had rust under a rear sight once. Since using grease it's not happened again.

13. Standard Winchester primers. Skip the reduced power versions. You'll misfire a lot with them in a Knight.

14. The Vials I keep my powder in. I think they come from E&K Scientific. Underclocked can tell you about them as he's the one that goet that started ages ago.

15. A speed loader for in the field. I like the ones that keep powder and bullet seperate.

16. A ramrod using one of the aforementioned tips from a CVA starter.

17. A powerrod. Sadly this version is no longer made IIRC. T/C bought the patent from the XS Sights and had a universal version that isn't as good IMO. Unless you have an Omega or Encore which uses a solid ramrod you have to put up with the hollow one or find an older one.

18. Hearing protection. I couldn't find my safety glasses.

I see I forgot to number the allen wrench. it's a 5/16 ths.
