Good question. In these circumstances I would sling another arrow at 50 yards max. I am fairly accurate and confident at that range.I definitely would hold my pin dead on the heart in case the deer dropped down to leap away.

However, the deer knows something is up and a longer shot such as that may enable him the jump the string. Depends on the bow and shooter I guess. The deer is bound to die but a second arrow would end his/her misery alot sooner.

I dunno...thats a tough one. Its one of those executive decisions that would have to be made at that time.
