RE: Powder or Pellets for my TC Omega
Congratulations on the new rifle. You will love it I'm sure. The Omegais a fine choice.Lots here will tell you the same.I have two and have been very pleased.Be sure to read the instruction book thoroughly several times. Then familiarize yourself with your rifle inside and out. It's VERY IMPORTANT to clean the rifle completely.Paying particular attention to the bore. You must remove all the factory gunk/greaseprior to your first shot.As far as pellets/powder.Powder is a better choice.Less cost and gives you the ability to work upcustom loadsThat being said,I'm somewhat like you.I really don't have the time to shoot as much as I would like.I started w/pyrodex pellets and have continued.Shot off a lot of different bullets, sabots, and pellet grain combinations. Each gun is different. So be prepared to try different stuff.I know you didn't ask for load suggestions but I have found a couple that are great shooters in my rifles.Have improvedto inch or sub-inch @100 consistantly.Obviously I'm thrilled. My synthetic likes 110 gr.of pellets, under a 250gr.Speer Gold Dot bullet, with a MMP hp12 sabot. The other being a laminate stock likes the a 300 gr.Gold Dot w/90gr.pellets..I should say both are useing the vari-flame ignition primer system w/cci400 small rifle primers.I just recently changed to this from the 209 and saw a marked reductionin group size.I clean between shots(50/50 mix alch-windex)on the bench w/aDAMP patch staggard down, turned over, repeat, then a dry down and turned over.Let'm cool between shots.Sheath/Baricade for rust prevention after range session(no borebutter).I learned every bit of this here at HuntingNet.com.These guys are terrific and very helpful. GOOD LUCKandBE SAFE. hunt4me
