Default RE: Deer hunting with dogs

I grew up hunting with dogs here in north Florida and loved every minute of it. I gave it up because our group lost its lease after 15 years of hunting it.I hunt from the trees now and love it just as much. I have also seen scenerios like wingnut described but they are the exception not the rule. Most dog hunters respect the law, and here in north Florida groups with big enough leases to run dogs were the first to start managing their deer herd. Anyone who thinks its easier needs to try it and anyone who thinks they can get deer here without using dogs needs to come down and try hunting here, place is so thick rabbits use bulldozers. A quick stat, I hunt a WMA here, still hunt area only, 36,000 acres with 300 permits issued this year, exactly 13 deer killed from the start of bow season in Oct. until this evening. Thats tough hunting and its rated as one of the top 5 WMA in the state. I'm lucky I have property in Georgia to hunt so i always have s full freezer. Don't knock it until you have tried it.
