It is unethical to even attempt a shot at a deer with a 30 pound bow. The penetration that is needed to get to the vitals will not occur an a mature whitetail. You will end up wounding the animal and it will suffer untill it dies. Don't do it!
You are right i am going to come back, you said the penetration that is needed to get into the vitals will not occur on a mature whitetail. thats an incorrect statement, a 30 pound bow can and will penetrate into the vitals of a mature whitetail. As for the Native americans, I COULD in fact be wrong there, As that is what i read somewhere, i will not deny i havent searched into it yet.
Now where did you get the information that it has been proven 30 pounds isnt effective on whitetail?
Also no these passthroughs i saw where Broadside hits behind the shoulder.
I am new to archery in a way, I have shot bows on and off since i was about 6 or 7 years old. I just never got into anything technical about it, i would shoot any kinda of arrows and when i baught arrows i would buy single arrows in a variety of kinds and expect them to shoot the same, because i just didnt know, now for over a year i have been reading and learning more technical stuff.
A person should always use the highest draw weight they can pull comfortably, until you get up in the 50 + then You dont need to start pushing your draw weights farther unless you want to.
Like i said before if i thaught i was wrong i would say it, and I said i could be wrong on teh native american bows, but i did read that somewhere in the past few weeks, dont remember where, but as far as 30 pounds not killing a mature whitetail, i think im right.
And one more thing, i asked have you ever shot a mature whitetail with a 30 pound bow?
