pigiron, yes groundhogs can climb trees. A few years ago, my dad was runnin hisblack GSP and he tree'd a young groundhog. It climbed about 10' up toa fork in a small tree. I was dumbfounded b/c I never they could climb...had to take a pic.
Shucks,I thought I was having a National Geographic moment.
I'd a never thunk it......he looked so out of place.
