This was not his intended shot and he is not sure what happened to this day. This was his first buck he has ever taken with a bow as well. I still can not figure out how he hit it right square in the head either. I think it had something to do with his arrow basically almost touching the deer already and making the nerves go crazy.
At close range, 3-5 yards, he may have been using the wrong pin. You/Anyone should shoot at their target from 3-5 yards and find out which pin would be accurate. You never know when you may need to make a close up kill shot to finish off a woundedanimal.
