Believe it or not but we have more guns per person than you have in the U.S. up here in Canada yet the percentage of crimes where a firearm is used is far less. Most of the illegal firarms (esp. handguns) are smuggled in from the U.S..There are stats that can explain, or at least try to explain, everything. It is up to the responsible gun owners in all countries to continue to stand up for their ownership of firearms. Perhaps if thesappy Judicial systems in both of our countries would stand by harsher sentences for those who use firearms to commit a crime, there would be a greater effect on this problem.
