i have an encore pistol in 7-08, my biggest regret, i have a fixed power 4X leupold, next scope will be a 2X or varible, the longest shot i have taken with mine was just shy of 180 yrds, very accurate, and a blast to shoot, i didn't find the recoil to be that bad
, but im not bad recoil sensitive

but be ready for some funny looks when you tell your buddies your gonna hunt with your "pistol", my best friend calls mine a short rifle[:-]
