I sort of agree with him, I don't use broad head weight to fix any of my problems. I pick a broad head I want and go from there. I can always add weight to the arrow or insert instead.

I doubt he told the guy that though.

I think you're right. He probably didn't mean it that way. Tip weight can be a huge factor in how an arrow flys or penetrates. Casually dismissing it, is completely wrong in my view.
