Default Out of Africa (pics)

Well we made it out of Africa. We lost a day and a half of hunting thanks to Delta Airlines, but Im not gona get into that now...My dad, our buddy and I arrived in Joburg with great weather, It felt like a typical late October early November hunt with cold mornings and cool evennings. Long story short the buffalo hunt just didnt work out. Swirling winds really made it a dangerous situation. We all agreed it just wasnt meant to be this year, so with a few days remaining I met up with the guys at camp to hunt plains game. My first morning in a tree, my PH Thomas and I saw several duiker, nyala, and even monkeys, but nothing worth an arrow. The evenning was better, I passed up 3 45-50 inch Kudu bulls in hopes of an opportunity at a 60+ incher that was on the farm. I got back to camp and found that our buddy killed a warthog and an impala and dad killed a 54 inch kudu. I already had some catching up to do. Dad was heading north to Botswana to hunt a lion with his PH Jacques. The next morning I nearly got a shot at the 60 inch Kudu bull but at 30 yards a bit of sickle bush saved his life. As the short day progressed I had an opportunity at a great looking Waterbuck. He gave me a 25 yards shot and I made a perfect shot and he went 120 yards and fell. We found out Joe killed a 48 inch Kudu. The next morning Joe continued the slaughter as he connected on a nice wildebeest and an impala. At last light I shot a monstrous Wildebeest at 20 yards right in the crease broadside. Unfortunately this perfect deer shot is actually a gut shot on African game. The PH said he will die, but it wont be quick. This really made me sick. Although, I felt much better finding out my dad had killed a 450 pound lion that day. All in all it was a great experience for all of us. More pics to come!
