I have two .3's and two 3.0's.... i definately prefer the 3.0 to the .3... MUCH better flash range and picture quality. I always make sure i hit TEST before turning it to OFF or PIR, and i haven't had a problem yet... I have all four camera's out right now and to my knowledge all four are working properly. I think Gobl's advice nailed it perfectly, i can't think of anything else other than what they said!!!
