Great post Dave. I too recently bought a D-80 w/ the 18-200 f/3.5-5.6 VR II lens. I like your, very fast lens. I'm hoping the VR will allow me to get some great shots like that myself. I hear what you say about wanting new lenses, I"m already dreaming of a nice 400mm f/4 lens. Just have to sell a kidney or two and I'd be set!

You seem very fortunate to have such an abundance of wild bird in your area to shoot. Since I'm in E. Washington some of the birds are the same here but I'm too late to get any eagles, except the few golden's in the area.
