Default RE: OnTarget2 Questions

ORIGINAL: Buck_Slayer

It shows that at my current setup. (Gold Tip 7595s and a 100g tip at 28.5") That my velocity will be 292.1, is that fps? How accurate do you think that is?
Yes, Feet Per Second. Accuracy depends a lot on the accuracy of the bow's specs. Is the IBO estimate accurate? Is the draw length the exact length stated by the manufacturer? Is the arrrow weight exactly what the mfgr says? I find that most bow and arrow specs are exaggerated towards making it look like a fast bow, since most people seem to think that's important for some reason. Chances are, your actual speed is less. Don't worry about it. It doesn't matter.

and for a FOC it is at 10.08%. Is that alright, I read on the page here that it should fall within that range..but somebody the other day had said something about getting it around 20%??
The range you commonly see quoted is what I believe to be "old school". Since Ashby's studies on higher FOCs have been made public, I have extensively tested extreme FOC arrows and there is no downside to them that I can find. The upside is huge. Higher is better. Can you kill a deer with one at 10%? Yes, but in my opinion, it will be easier to hit the right spot and get the best penetration if you choose to go higher.
