I was able to use one of the holes from the orignial sight, but had to drill and tap two more for the three-hole base I had. You've got to be real carefulto get the spacing and alignment right and go very easy with thedrill press, usinglots of oil while drilling and tapping. The holes aren't any deeper than the ones on the original factory sights and don't weaken the barrel.
