RE: Fawn with Antlers??
Because it takes a whitetail deer several months to just grow a "rack"
Second, a fawn loses its spots at about 5 or 6 months.
That fawn would have to be in the velvet stage while still in the womb.
Antlers while in the velvet stage are actually full of blood and tissue. They damage very easily.
How would the mother give birth to a fawn with a rack? It would have to be in the velvet stage and the antlers would really get damaged while it was coming out.
It just takes too long to grow a 6 pt. rack whether in the womb or after birth. it just isn't possible to have a rack before spots fade away.
It must have been a young fallow deer.
