My personal goals this year are:
1) Take 2 does off my property to help ratio out a bit
2) Take a MATURE buck.
Will 2 Does really do ANYTHING for your ratio ??? [&:]Only if your population is something like 5 deer?
Best of luckwith the "mature" buck! Rare is the bowhunter who will even see a 5 1/2 year old animal during legal shooting hours. Remember though, the KEY to shooting a mature buck is to
NOT shoot an immature one! That being said, I respect anyone who sets goals and can stay dedicated and focused on the task. Good luck
Well I'm not the only one going to be shooting does. My stepdad is going to try to take a couple and our neighbors are aswell.
As far as a mature buck. The mark we usually set is 6pt or better. To put my goals within reason, iI'd be happy with a 3 1/2+ year old.
