I have problems with bedding areas too. The whole woods Where I hunt is really thick, it was logged extensively about 12 years ago. So the deer can bed just about anywhere they want to and be in thick cover. I have found beds throughout the entire 125 acres of this woods. One thing I do know, the deer seek out South facing slopes in really cold weather. Other than that the wind direction probably determines where they bed as much as anything else. And possibly where their main food source is at the time. If you have a swampy area, they seem to like thattoo. Usually pretty thick stuff and not a whole lot of disturbances.

If we have an acorn crop this year, they might bed near those when they start dropping.

That is why it isnt easy. Lots of choices and we don't think like deer! Sometimes you wonder why the heck they do some of the things the do.
