You'll find that bowhunting clothing must be selected a bit more carefully than rifle gear. You need comfort, adaptability, and most importantly.... silence. On a cold still morning trying to draw on a skittish whitetail at pointblank range amplifies everything so you'll need the quietest outfit you can buy. For the bowhunter it's all about layering. With bow seasons running so long around the country you could find yourself hunting in temps ranging from 80+ degrees to subzero late season. You really need to sit down and form a workable budget and then determine what you can buy for the average conditions you'll be hunting.

For our early season I prefer a light breathable layering garbsuch asBase Layers and over that I'll add another Scent-Lok or Scent Blocker light weightsuit. I'll always wear the headcovers and also light gloves. I also make sure to have quality Rain Gear because it's always seems to rain during the early season. One of my favs is a Scent Lock Supreme rain gear outfit. I'll also add a pair of LaCrosse Alfa Burly Sports and then spray myself from head to toe with scent eliminator.

For mid season temps I can begin adding insulating layers and quality long underwear. My favs are Cabela's Thermastat Polar Weight series with the zip top mock and drawers. You can also add a quality insulated vest with Gore-texor Windstopper. For gloves I'll switch to a wool or MTO50 Winstopper folding Glomitts. For footwear I'll step up to an insulated 1000 gr version of LaCrosse or Cabela's Pinnacle zipper400 grinsulated hunting boot

For colder temps, and by this I mean anytime I'm sitting for hours in temps cooler than lower 40's, I step up to my favorite outwear... Cabela's MTO50 Whitetail Extreme Parka and bibs. As the temps dip throughout the late season by simply adding the under layers I did earlier in the season, I can sit all day in ANY temps the Midwest can throw at me. For foot wear I switch to a Rocky Snow Stalker Extreme pac boot.

Another piece of hunting gear that I consider as important as any article of clothing I wear is a Slide-n-Flex Bino System, wether it's to hold you LRF or optics, it will keepyou optics tight to your chest and out of the way of your bowstring which will enable you to use them that much more.
