Default RE: NEED HELP WITH A MOLD

Right now, LEE is building a mold for a number of us White shooters. It will be a large conical around 460 grains in weight. It will come out .505 -.507 (approximately if all goes well). I can then put that through a $18.00 bullet sizing dye and bring that down to .504. The sizing dye that LEE sells is a .501 so I want to get a couple of them. One I will leave alone for shooting .501's out of my Knights and Black Diamonds, the other I will grind out to the .504 that I want for casting to the White.

Start checking the Lyman, LEE, and some of the other mold makers and see if they have a bullet between .505 - .515 that interests you. Then get some reducing sizing dyes and bring them down to the size you want. Or perhaps there is someone that will part with one of their molds on the White rifle site as some bought a number of the molds and might sell one.

One other thing I have noticed is, my Knights do not like to shoot conicals all that well. Now there is one conical out there they do shoot well. They are called Saber Tooth conicals. My Disc rifle likes the 300 grain Saber Tooth. The next time I order I am going to get some of the 350 grain Saber Tooth. They do shoot the 250 grain also, but the 300 seems to be the most accurate.

What you might want to do to save you lots of money and headaches.. order some .501, .502 & .503 conicals from Dan at Bull Shop conicals. He has them in weights of 400, 460, & 500 grain (and larger) and see if your rifle even likes conicals before you make this major investment. Dan will size them to the diameter you want. You will then know what weight your rifle MIGHT like and what diameter.
