Default RE: Northern Quebec Caribou Hunt

my group has reserved at EXPLO-SYLVA on sept. 10 this fall .i wanted to go a week later but no more room ..this will be my 5th. time ,we fly out from DORVAL [PIERRE ELIOT TRAUDEAU airport] and 2 1/2 hours will shall touch down in CANIAPISCAU ..caribou are very easy to put down ,but the black bears are tough ..in QUEBEC to hunt big game the u will need a.243 cal .or bigger..i use small binoculars 8x30 max. ,small packsack for ur lunch ,water bottle [it gets hot up there] good walking boots ,the terrain is realy rough ..and most of all august is still blackfly season don't forget ur OFF..i always go later the velvet has shed on the antlers and we see mostly bulls..in the migration the bulls follow the females...ps.to cut down on the weight carry a small packsack filled with personel objects ,u can bring it into the plane with u....
