I've had similar torque issues with my BowTech that I don't have with any of my Hoyts or Golden Eagle. I think it may be the BowTech grip and your/my hand shape. I have to be very cognisant of hand placement with the BowTech to make sure it sits out on the meat of my thumb. As to your level question, yes, your level should be level.
