Rangefinder ratings are based on highly reflective objects,which game animals are not.As a result they usually only range game animals out to 1/2 to 2/3 of the rated range.If you want to range game animals to 400 yards,you need a rangefinder that is rated to at least 600 yards,preferably 800 yards.
