RE: new jersey crossbow season
.
lets talk about more hunters..
i grew up in my hunting area here for 50 years...
had things not to bad UNTIL new jersey hunters started buying land here and building camps..
i NEVER chased anyone off state forestland in all those years..
now, new jersey hunters come in, put up treestands on state land on friday, then on monday they say to me,STAY OUT WE WERE HERE FIRST, YOU KNEW THAT/..
BUDDY, i have been here for 50 years..
so, now you know why most if not all us local hunters dont want to see more hunters in woods, crossbows ARE bringing in more hunters..
do to lack of deer here in WMU2G,things are not very nice for hunters..
call in greed, i guess you are right on that..
what burns me is these out of state hunters come in, put up treestand and think they own woods....
i shot huge buck this year 20 ft from another hunter,he was from kentucky..
he claimed this was his spot...
he even put a threatening letter on my truck that i better not be back next year..
i got news for him, i will be there as usual for my 51 st year in that area..
so, crossbows put more hunters in woods,i dont want to see it but its PUBLICLAND, I HAVE TO LIVE WIT IT...
its very hard to get nice buck now with all doe killing we have had here in last 5 years in pa.....
i used to see 30 deer a day out of that, 8 or 9 buck, last 3 years, i have gone days and not seen a deer and most i saw in 1 day was 3 doe..
hunting is terrible now here in pa. and really a crossbow is not going to help anyone get deer in stateforestland, you have to hunt now and HARD...
only thing crossbows do is put more hunters in woodswhich makes them more NOCTURNAL in archery....
