That deer could have been injured the season before. That antler growth happens when they have been injured. Usually whatever side they have been injured on the other side of the rack will be deformed. Thats not speculation thats a fact... I have had that happen before. I shot a buck one evening late, on his right side up around his neck. I never recovered that deer. But the following year I had the same buck, come right down the same trail and walked into my shooting lane and I put the smack down on him and later while skinning him I found my broadhead from the year before...
