What is the age where the results of these tests are no longer questioned?
If I have my dog's joints checked prior to two years of age, I will have to do it at two as well. Prior to that age is only valuable for informational purposes only. It's after the dog turns two where the official tests are taken.
Is this the same for a lab?
Yup - it's the same regardless of breed -xrays taken before age two are "preliminary" only. OFA wants a dog to be skeletally mature (age 2) before they can get a final (permanent) rating. PENN hip will give you a rating (I think anytime after 6 months of age). PENN doesn't do elbows.
