Da Woods: In order to get onto a team in this elite skills competition, first you have to be "sponsored" by a past or present champion. Usually, would-be contest entrants woo previous champs by mailing them gift cards to Cabelas, and coupons for free Extra Value Meals.

Then, if you're lucky enough to find a sponsor,you have to perform several "rites of passage." The Rites of Passage include but are not limited to:

[ul][*]a feat of extraordinary intestinal fortitude, such as eating a pack of fishing maggots (They are real taste with a dash of salt.)[/ul]


Once a sponsor has been retained, and one or more "feats" have been attained, you will be eligible to sign up at the end of July.
