After having a carbon arrow explode on me for no apparant reason last summer, I switched to A/C/C arrows. Does this extreme speed concern you that a carbonarrow may give out?
It doesn't concern me a bit. But I prefer a heavier arrow for hunting. I went to Easton FMJs for this upcoming season. The final finished arrows, crests and all weigh in at 454 grs. My Iron Mace is set at 64 #s, 29.5" and is shooting those logs at 282fps. Thats 80.1 ft/lbs of KE if you believe in that kinda thing. Heck, plenty of folks are shooting bows at 70#s and arrows under 400grs that are right there between 280-290. Still...way more than you need to punch through a deer...even lengthwise.
