Heck, I've hunted southern wisconsin for years and never get ticks on me. A few years ago I started hunting a public hunting grounds about thirty miles from my other areas and I had deer ticks all over me. This was the first I'd ever seen a deer tick, though I'd seen a few wood ticks from shooting at some 3D shoots. Since then I always have a pair of hunting pants sprayed with permethrin and have never had a tick on me since. So I keep one pair of pants for this area and a second non sprayed pair for my other areas.
