I have a 597 and it shoots great, but like previously stated they do have some flaws that can be fixed. Mine used to havea bolt sticking problem until I loosened the guide rails. I also had one of the older style mags, but look on EBAY for some cheap mags. Great shooter since the fixes. You can also go to Rimfirecentral.com. They have a whole section for the 597.
