RE: are kill shots really necessary?
I'm not too excited about watching the process. To me it's also sort of a respect thing to the deer. Not to sit there and gaze at it flipping around and blatting. I think it's also the fact that such an elusive animal has become not so and it hits you that you've taken that away from it.
No need to show that on T.V. As far as the newbies.......hey experience it for themselves and then decide. What if they watched a show that showed that and made them never hunt. They would never get to experience the 10,000 good things about hunting which may have outweighed that particular bad thing that turned them off. I say let them experience it and then decide.
