RE: I hate reading stories like this...
Not to rain on your parade, but "Boo Hoo". So non-resident fees are more expensive now than they were a few years ago. So is the price of gas, the cost of electricity, the cost of automobiles, the cost of housing, androast beef sandwich at Arby's. Whose fault is all of that?
The increased availability of information via magazines, television, and most importanly the Internet has allowed people to broaden the scope of what they can and will do at any given time to hunt better areas. Why is that so bad?
I know Craig Neace personally and he's a great guy. He's not out to get rich off selling a few hunts or to drive costs up for everyone. He wants to make a couple bucks and help guys from out of state find a place to hunt in IL that they can enjoy and possibly see and kill some nice bucks on. Is that really so bad?
And since when is $160 for a WI non-resident tagcheap? Cheaper than IL for sure, but it's still a lot of coin. And as for the quality of people hunting certain areas, I don't believe that has anything to do with license costs or an article posted on HuntingNet. But hey, broad generalizations are always fun to make!
