RE: If you could build the perfect hunting bow
Actually, I just got finished building my idea of a perfect hunting bow. Reflex/deflex longbow, 68" nock to nock, bocote riser with black glass under bocote overlays on the back of the riser and limb tips, hickory cores under clear glass. Draws 63# @ 31", weighs just under 2 pounds and shoots a 580 grain 2315 around 190 fps. Probably do a few fps better than that when I restock my string making stuff with 450+ and replace that B-50 string I'm shooting now. Cost? $100 for materials and about 15 hours of my time.
My next one will be shedua, maybe bubinga, for the riser with face cut red elm cores, red glass under wenge overlays, and draw closer to 55 pounds. Extra perfect.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
