Default Three Pin Hunting Sight

One of my buddies just got a new sight on his bow. It has only three pins, and there is not enough room between the pins to have a 20 yard and a30 yard pin. When sighted in at 20 with the top pin, and the 2nd pin moved as close as possible to the top one; the 2nd pin is about right on for 37 yards.

I'm thinking maybe the best way to set this one up is to zero the pins for 30, 40, and 50. When shooting at 20 yards, the arrowhits only a couple of inches high when holding the 30 yard (top)pin on the 20 yard target.

The other alternative would, of course, be 20-40-50.

Any ideas on this one? BTW - this is western big game hunting, where distances can sometimes stretch out there a little.
