I'm heading up to Berrien Springs, MI for the Compton Traditional Rendezvous in a few hours. Lots of food, camping, shooting, vendors, and a few thousand bowhunters swapping stories.
Last Friday at Cloverdale I walked around the vendor booths and saw probably a dozen old recurves for $50-$75 that would make great fishing bows...which is just what I was looking for. And like a fool, not only did I figure I'd pick one up on Saturday, but I mentioned all those great, inexpensive fishing bows during my speaking gig Friday night.
By Saturday afternoon, all those cheap bows were gone. [:@]
Tomorrow I'm going to buy a new fishing bow first, and keep my mouth shut until it's in the back of the truck.
