That's my problem with it. I think it works initially if you don't leave it out
to suck up all the odors. If I was going on an expensive paid hunt and had the extra money, I might consider buying a suit for that specific hunt (definitely thinking down the road ).

While I don't think it has been scientifically proven that a new suit doesn't work, I am fairly certain there is ironclad scientific proof that it cannot be regenerated. There is no such thing as "partially regeneration" of carbon. It's like getting water up to 150 degrees and saying its partially boiled. To regenerate requires temperatures so high that it would incinerate the garmet and you would just have a pile of carbon.
