Tree stands, when well placed and hunted under the right wind, provide often more opportunity for a skilled hunter. It takes skill of course, to know where to put them, and when to hunt them.

A deer drive will afford opportunity to almost anyone. It depends more on luck of the draw (regarding which stand you take) as much as anything else. Of course, a well planned deer drive will be much more effective than a run and beat operation.
