Well sometimes it's just conditions that allow it. My first ever deer hunt ( just tagging along too young to hunt). My Dad shot at a Doe 3 times with a .50 cal Flintlock muzzleloader. She was down in a valley maybe 80-100 yards. She was with another doe,feeding they never moved..looked oranything. You know it takes a while to load a ML and it was his first time hunting with one. I can tell ya the report was anything but quite. There was about 2 feet of snow. He dropped her in her tracks on the last (3rd)shot!
