I use all of these rigs about equally. It depends on what the fish are doing. You are missing the point here! One of these rigs is not better than the other. They are totally different techniques, meaning you use them at different times under different circumstances. For instance if I want to cover water quickly and find some bass, I will throw a carolina rig and use it as a search bait. However, if I am fishing heavy structure or vegetation I will generally throw a texas rigged worm. The idea behind the texas rig is the hook is not exposed therefore it is weedless meaning you can fish it in the heaviest cover you can find. The way you are rigging your worms is fine but you will get hung up on everything if you try to fish structure. And for god sake take off that swivel. It only takes a few extra seconds to tie a polamar knot. And you will have better results in the long run. If you any further questions feel free to ask.
