Its a fleece pouch attached with a nylon strech cord that goes over the end of your arrows. And yes there is a hunk of foam down in the bottom. You pull it out for 3/target shooting. I prefer a backquiver for 3ds or targets and small game hunting. Jay Campbell has a deal in the upper section (towards the feathers) that holds the arrows away from eachother. A hunk of foam with slits cut it in if I remember right. I like the idea, just havent done it yet. Dean Torges's page has some good info on the chief and some great pictures. Some of which I believe he is actually wearing his in the photo album section.
As for the hunting, your dang skippy! If you get the urge, let me know! Caribou, moose, sitka deer, or black bear, its all fair game for ya. If I cant go I can atleast help steer ya in the right direction!
