I am looking for a starter recurve and more than a little overwhelmed by the offerings on Ebay and other classifieds. There seems to be a concensus that Wings are hard to beat for the price. The Bears seem to command a premium for their collector appeal. I'm looking for 45lbs, 58-62". There are Red Wings, Hawks, and Falcons. Would one of these be a better choice for a beginner than the others? I've noticed that the Red Wings are sometimes listed @ 52", but reference 58" in the model numbers. Are they listing the strungth length as opposed to unstrung, or did they make them that short? What would be a fair price for one of these? It seems that all the bidding takes place at the last minute on Ebay and I don't know if I want to stick around. What would a fair price be on the Martin Super Diablos and Hatfields? I might consider those if they aren't too much more, as they seem to be at the upper end of the factory offerings. All feedback is appreciated.
