Default RE: private land

Clean yourself up and go knocking on some doors. You live in a state that's got a lot of big woods and rural land. All they can do is say "NO".... they can't shoot you or beat you. Be polite, offer to help with chores or harvesting or something. If you show up, give some "Yes sir, No sir" answers you might be in. If they say "NO" once it doesn't always close the door. Do it next year and the next year etc. Talk about him, his farm, his crops, his life. If they say no, say, "Thanks for your time, it's been nice talking to you". If you get a place,.... no matter how small ... you have a reference for the next place. People will give a nice polite young fella or gal a shot more often than not. When I say dress up, I mean just clean, neat, shaved etc. DOn't show up with earings stick out your nose and all that. Cover the tattos and to spit tobacco juice on his porch.[8D] They can't shoot you... all they can do is say NO. If they say yes... ask where they want you to park etc etc. If you get in, don't blow it by bring in others without consent... and don't do it the first year. Get a history with they guy before you expand. Invited friends will screw it up for you more often than not. Don't even tell them about it. I know of many cases where yahoos have walked up to the guy and said "so and so said we could hunt here". At that point you're gone.
