Drinking in Bars is good for something. I travel and get so many opportunities to hunt some prime residential areas by meeting folks in bars. My wife wouldn't like me picking up hotties so I go after hot hunting spots.

Serious, though, I do do the above and it's an awesome pay off. More important to get started is to scout areas you would like to hunt. In suburbia, it means walking your dog, enjoying nature. Develope a list in your mind of the good potential hunting neighborhoods. Then when you out meeting people at any function, kids games, company functions, casual conversations, and bars. Bring up the deer problem issues, maybe how you love to bow hunt and doors will open for you. You can bank on it.
