Default RE: Purr calls

BT's right on the money as usual!Maytom told me that BT carrys a kittycat in his vest to purr for him! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
All kiddin aside the purr is a deadly call when done in the right situation.Call shy toms or areas that get alot of pressure when all a yelp does is send them the otherway is an opportune time to switch to clucks and purrs! If your ever fortunate to get close to a flock of turkeys that are undisturbed you'll find that they talk almost constantly to one another and one of those contentment calls along with soft clucks is the purr!Turkeys relay messages to one another alot of times using the same call but adding emotion and intensity to the call in the situation or circumstance they find themselves in.An aggrevated or excited purr can be done by toms and hens while fighting, breeding, andcan even relay an alarm that something isn't right!Hope this sheds a little light on the subject....Bob.
