Well Joe you lived through what I've feared.

My last dumb one is when I took out a hunting partner during bow season and called in a nice tom. I was doing all the calling and the bird came in and went around a blow down tree giving my partner the better shot on him. I never thought 1) my partner would miss and 2) the bird would continue towards me after getting around the blow down and getting shot at with an arrow. However that tom came around, did a little skip when the arrow was low and skimmed along the forest floor, and he just stood there at 25 yards wondering what just happened. For what felt like 5 minutes my partner is thinking I'm going to shoot at any moment so he stays very still.

I forgot to put on my release and I was never a finger shooter!!! I was so involved in calling and watching me get this bird in for my partner that I never thought that I would have to shoot.
