I record the time I see deer and write it in a field journal w/ the moon phase,temps, humidity,etc. It really will surprise you how time of day plays into movement at a certain time of the rut phase. I also need to know legal start and end time. So a watch to me is necessary.

Iuse a sport watch w/ a lighted dial that helps in the dark.

I also wear it on the opposite wrist as my release.
